It has been a long and very challenging two years for all of us in the school community but we finally got the opportunity to play some sports again at school! This is a (not so short) tribute to our brilliant Boys Football Team who performed so well in all their matches in the Cumann na mBunscol competition. We played 5 matches since January and won 4 of them. We beat St. Peter's, Gaelscoil na Camóige, St. Joseph's of Clondalkin, St. Joseph's of Ballymun and we only came up
Ms. Gallagher’s Class had a great day at Corkagh Park in the beautiful sunshine. Ms. Lee’s Class joined us too! We went to the playground and afterwards we had a Teddy Bear’s Picnic in the Rose Garden. Take a look at some of the fun we had!
Mr. Doherty's class worked really hard on our school projects and we are really proud of the end product of all this hard work. Take a look at these lovely photos! The children gathered as much information as possible about the following countries : Egypt, Japan, England, USA, China and Mexico. They presented this information in a really creative way on their scrapbooks! We have learned a lot about each of these fascinating countries.
We read Michael Morpurgo's “The Butterfly Lion” together in class and did a lot of work on the story including writing diary entries, summarising chapters, learning about life in the trenches in WWI, and making some fantastic artwork to go along with our display. We really enjoyed the story and hope you get a chance to read it too.
To celebrate World Book Day, Mr Lawlor's 3rd class brought in their favourite book and we did a 'Show and Tell'. Also some of the children did an amazing job of dressing up as the character from their favourite book!
Ms Brennan's 6th Class had a wonderful opportunity to take part in a workshop with Fighting Words, thanks to the Creative Schools Committee. We collaboratively wrote a story and then continued to write ourselves. We loved writing our story, especially when we got to see the amazing illustrations of our story by the team. Take a look at what we wrote.
