First Class Had A Very Exciting Week Last Week

The children had lots of fun in Mr. Scott's first class for STEM Week last week. We will definitely have some future engineers and scientists from our room! We've had maths games, big builds, science experiments and a dress up day. A huge thank you to all of the parents who helped the children make such creative and beautiful costumes.

STEM week in Ms.Geoghegan’s class

2nd class have been very busy doing some activities for STEM week we even got some help from 6th class students! In Maths, we did some fun games in groups and did a maths trail in the carpark. For Science, we did a “milk art” experiment. We learned how washing up liquid breaks down the fat in milk. The food colouring created mini explosions in the milk! Using the IPads, we picked a planet and did some research. We found some interesting facts! We constructed some 3D structures using spaghetti and marshmallows. We also created some giant structures in the hall using cardboard boxes, jaggo blocks, connects and other recyclable materials. We had lots of fun during STEM week 😁

STEM week in Ms.O'Donovan's Class

It is fair to say that room 11 has come alive this week for Sruleen's first STEM week. We have been scientists, engineers and mathematicians. From building an amazing variety of constructions in the Big Build in the hall, to making parachutes inspired by the story of The Candy Bomber, working together to construct 3d shapes with spaghetti and marshmallows to partaking in the spaghetti tower challenge we did today!

STEM Week Adventures in 1st Class

Ms. McDonnell's class have been having a great week! On Tuesday we learned about engineers and even made our own parachutes. For Space Day we dressed up as cool aliens, astronauts and solar systems. Today we had a great time doing our skittles experiment. We poured water on a plate of skittles and watched the colours dissolve to make a rainbow! We used the iPads to record the experiment and showed it to our neighbours in Mr. Scott's class.
