Maths fun in Ms. O'Donovan's class!

We have been learning about length in maths this week and have been measuring lots of objects in our classroom. Today we measured the length of our room and the corridor using our metres of twine.

Catholic Schools Week 2017.

As part of Catholic Schools week our 4th/5th class have been learning about the Creation Story. We also read a letter from Pope Francis in which he talks about taking care of our planet and making the world we live in a better place. Have a look at some of our work!

Library Visit

Ms. Feeney's Senior Infants had a great time in Clondalkin library today! The children had a look at the lovely books and had some stories read to them.

Science fun in Ms O'Donovan's class!!!

Over the last two weeks we have been learning about Antarctica and it's wonderful animal life. Penguins in the South Pole have blubber to keep them warm in the freezing water. We did the blubber glove experiment...we put one hand in a "glove" which was made of 2 zip lock bags and lard, the other hand was bare. We put both our hands into a basin of ice water and tested which hand we could keep in the water longer...every child found the blubber glove allowed them to keep their hand in the water longer proving just how important blubber is for the penguins! It was really cool!!! !
