A fantastic day of Cross Country Running!

It has been great to see the return of the Cross Country Running to Clondalkin and the children really enjoyed the experience earlier this month. We sent down 50 children from Third to Sixth Class to run in these races and they all seemed to really enjoy the experience. The races were of a very high standard as all the local schools in the area sent down their best runners and there were over 30 runners in each race. Our Fourth Class boys were particularly impressive! We won both races - Alex blitzed the field in the first while Kyle ran a superb tactical race to surge home in front in the second race! The speedy Alfie also finished second behind Alex while Jack wasn't too far behind at all in Fourth Place

. Ciara ran brilliantly to finish second in the Third Class girls race while Heidi finished in a superb Fourth Place in the Fourth Class girls race. Sean was our top Third Class boy on the day finishing in Fourth place while Ollie battled his way to Second in the Fifth Class boys race and Amy produced a terrific effort to finish in Third. Alyssa was our top Sixth Class performer with a determined run to finish in Second. However, we are very proud of how all our athletes competed and most importantly how they conducted themselves on the day. A big thanks to Austin from St. Joseph's who has worked hard to organize this fantastic event and of course to our own Mr. Stevenson who was very much involved in the process!
